I practice psychiatry. And I build the systems that carry it further.
I am a consultant psychiatrist at King Saud University Medical City in Riyadh. I also founded Psyter, a digital platform for booking and receiving mental health care. I have worked in this field for twenty years, and I was a co-investigator on the Saudi National Mental Health Survey, run with the WHO.
About me
I am Majid Al Desouki, a Consultant Psychiatrist and Addiction Medicine Specialist at King Saud University Medical City in Riyadh. I run the Psychiatry Residency Program and the Adult Psychiatry Unit, and I head the Mortality and Morbidity Committee. I did my fellowship at the University of British Columbia in Mood Disorders and Addiction Medicine. I am board certified by the Arab Board and the Saudi Board of Psychiatry, and certified by the International Society of Addiction Medicine.
Alongside my clinical work, I founded Psyter, a digital mental health platform that makes it easier for people in the region to reach a psychiatrist. The platform includes AI-agent workflows that triage and route patients faster. I have advised SCFHS, SMC, GDNC, and CHI. I was a co-investigator with the WHO and UNICEF on the Saudi National Mental Health Survey, and I am Vice Chairman of the Board of Nafseati Society. A good part of my clinical work calls for discretion as well as rigor, and I built Psyter to the same standard.
